21 Day Challenge - Day 5 - Belt It

Today we're supposed to wear a belt.  Belts and I have a love-hate relationship.  I love belts, I love the idea of them, I love how they can make an outfit.  However, if I wear a belt it looks insanely weird on me, my love handles seem to stick out more and it makes me look frumpy instead of the cuteness I was going for.  So I try to avoid belts.

That being said, I LOVE this outfit, the cardigan hides what I'm uncomfortable with in my body, the belt adds a little something to the outfit and ties int he color of the "wood" on the shoes.  Adorable and comfortable!

21 Day Challenge - Day 4 - Color Block

 I am going on vacation starting this afternoon - to California!  This will be my third trip out there, I'm so excited for it.  I took all of this week's pictures ahead of time so they will be done, but I fear I won't be able to keep up with the challenge while I'm on the road (they're making me do ALL the driving!).  Since I will be stuck in a car driving most of the time, I sacrificed a little bit of style for comfort and will be wearing A LOT of yoga pants, tank tops, and oversized dolman tops.

Today is color block.  I always wanted to try the shirt tucked into a pencil skirt thing, so today was the day I decided to give it a go.  I love how it looks, but I just don't think its right for my body type (short torso, massive love handles, you know).  I love the simplicity of black and white together, it looks so clean, so classic.  However, I couldn't help but ass a bit of color with the bright orange shoes!

For today we're supposed to be pattern mixing.  I love this combination!  I wasn't too sure of it when I pulled it out of the closet, but I think it totally worked.  It's something I would wear again!

For today we're supposed to pick one items to remix, wear at least 3 times without repeating outfits, during this challenge.  I chose this knit pencil skirt.  Its comfortable, cute, and in a classic cut and color.
